Romanticize Your Routine: Connor Price, Pack Records, Patiño & more! Hot & New 10/16

A slight chill in the air and the elongation of nighttime have people seeking out opportunities to add a touch of cozy glamor to their everyday routines or fall activities: a hot beverage and a walk as the leaves change color, or lighting candles to enjoy with a movie marathon. Audius helps romanticize any routine with amorous and energetic music collected for this week’s Hot & New playlist update.

Connor Price re-enters the Audius spotlight, this time joined by Oliver Cronin for their collaboration, “Ruby.” The track immediately establishes the unstoppable feeling of wearing armor with manipulated horns playing an almost medieval pattern. Connor Price reinforces this badass barrier with determined lyrics that crown him as royalty in “Ruby.” Following Price’s stanza, Oliver Cronin hops in with his featured flow, adding a nonchalant air to the bold confidence that “Ruby” holds within. Utilizing simplicity alongside clever wordplay, Connor Price and Oliver Cronin present a fresh track that’s as hard as its namesake.

Pack Records unveils the latest EP from Glimji, a four-track containing two singles and two brand new remixes. Overall a UKG body of work, the EP opens up with “Phantom SP,” a dreamy and carefree collaboration with Bisouxx. Then “Flicker” takes this same vibe but twists it with playful synths and rhythms. For the featured remixes, Glimji taps frequent collaborator jamesjamesjames for their take on “Phantom SP;” jamesjamesjames overhauls the original track and completely reimagines it through a trance lens. Breathing and celestial, this particular track quickly captured the ears of Audius users. Finally, Gemi is called on for a delightful UK-inspired house remix of “Flicker.” This collection of work is perfect for four-on-the-floor lovers of all genres!

UK-based Costa Rican artist Patiño makes his Audius debut, uploading the latest EP titled londres. Highly emotional, this five-track body of work presents a curious crossover of reggaeton and synth pop with Latin flare. Tracks like “Te Hago Mal” and “Mañana Mañana” wash over listeners like a gentle breeze on a sunny day. In contrast, others like “sabor a ti” and “londres” fuel us with a calm vivacity. From top to bottom, Patiño beautifully depicts a spectrum of emotions and uses his delectable fusion of genres as the backdrop.

The first upload from NVRLAND has made it onto Audius, and it’s a song from a self-titled EP. “What You’ve Been On” is rose-tinted mist curling through trees on a brisk morning, and NVRLAND’s dulcet singing flows through branches like quiet wind. The components of this song blend together like layers of mesh. “What You’ve Been On” pulls back these complex layers that are the several heightened emotions experienced when in love with someone else.
