Meet Uezurii, an artist whose passion for music is matched only by his love for anime. His journey into the world of music began at the tender age of 13, dabbling with the digital audio workstation Fruity Loops, which later became the springboard for his decision to pursue a full-fledged career in music. His encounter with Audius has enabled him to reach a wider audience and foster collaborations with a range of artists. Fueled by the energizing drum loops of fellow creators and his own inventive musical stylings, he has created standout tracks that resonate with listeners. Excited about the transformative potential of the Metaverse and Web 3, Uezurii anticipates an artist-centric space where collaboration over competition reigns. Looking ahead, he dreams of leaving a lasting impact on his audience, lighting up festival stages, and making a living through his love for music and graphic design.

1. Tell us about your artist name and how you got into making music.

▷ First of all, thanks for reaching out to me for the artist spotlight! I feel honoured to be part of this! My artist name means Wesley, which is my real name in Japanese. This is because I'm an anime geek at heart, although I don't have the time anymore to watch anime these days. I got into making music because my heart lives and breathes music. The first time I used a DAW was when I was at school and I was 13 years old. I didn't think much of it back then and hadn't realised that I wanted to make music. I produced on Fruity Loops (now FL Studio). When I was around 18 years old and after I was exposed to different DAWs, I realised that I should produce more music. The following few years I went on and off between creating music. I was also DJ'ing here and there, mostly at house parties and some clubs in Spain. Since October last year I decided that I want to make a career in music!

2. How did you discover Audius and what is your favourite thing about it?

▷ Someone from the crypto community actually mentioned Audius at the beginning of last year. I created an account, but didn't use it until October last year. When I really started to use the platform, it was a true eye-opener. There were things that I discovered that I couldn't even imagine! There are so much great things about Audius! I don't really have one favourite thing. Some things I'd like to mention is the super awesome community, the staff are so supportive and I love the fact that I don't have to wait weeks before I can release my music. It's just instant! Additionally, if you use Audius as an upcoming artist, there's a big opportunity to get discovered! If you work hard enough, you'll have an equal chance to get trending and get your music heard by a large audience! Lastly, I would like to highlight the power of collaboration! There are so many amazing opportunities for collaborations and remixes on Audius!

3. What do you think of the Metaverse and Web 3 and how do you think it can help artists succeed?

▷ Man oh man, the Metaverse and Web3... It's so exciting! It brings artists so many more opportunities to monetize their talents. Also, I have the feeling that if I wasn't active in Web3, I probably wouldn't feel heard the way I am feeling heard now! I feel like everyone wants to support each other, instead of being so competitive like in Web 2. Everyone wants to see each other grow! We want to see each other grow as artists, but also in skills. With that said, in a few weeks I'm taking the opportunity to host a party on soundstage.fm, so stay tuned for that!

4. What are your future plans for your music? Where would you like to see your career five years from now?

▷ In five years I want to have achieved earning a living with what I like to do and that is making music, DJ'ing, and graphic design. I would like to play on some great festivals and have sync placements. But above all, I would like to make people's day when they hear my music.
