Electric Forest is widely known throughout the electronic music community in addition to the festival circuit. Held in Rothbury, Michigan, this immersive event received its reputation for its kind community, amazing art installations, and, of course, the forest itself that surrounds festival-goers. With a diverse lineup that includes jam bands alongside electronica, Electric Forest attracts a multigenerational crowd that all share a love for music and a love for the forest. This camping festival is a must for anyone that enjoys music, festivals, art, and camping!
Nestled in the West Kootenay Mountains in British Columbia, Canada, betwixt old forests and the Salmo River lies Shambhala Music Festival. This serene location allows festival-goers to connect with the music, the community, and their spirituality. After more than 25 years running, Shambhala fosters one of the kindest communities on the continent, and it shows in their non-music experiences: supporting local artists, yoga classes, designated safe spaces, and harm reduction services for those that elect to do away with sobriety. With their consistently impressive lineup, showcasing favorites from the mainstage and the underground, Shambhala should remain on everyone’s radar for the next opportunity to attend.
Hosted at the Jaceland camping grounds in Whitwell, Tennessee, Sound Haven stands as one of a select few underground-focused electronic music festivals. They boast a packed schedule of artist performances, creative workshops, and art showcases. One notable benefit to attending smaller, more focused festivals like Sound Haven is supporting this grassroots raised festival as well as the smaller vendors brought in (food, art, flow arts, etc.)! Not to mention, this year’s lineup holds the greatest in deep dub and drum and bass. Join the Sound Haven community this summer for killer tunes coming through the highest quality sound systems!
If there’s one thing to say about this festival, it’s that every year the lineup goes HARD. Previously, this Los Angeles festival presented the latest and greatest trap producers. This eyar, the festival diversified their lineup further and are introducing warehouse techno artists, garage producers, and so much more! HARD Summer has developed into a variety festival, hand-selecting some of the most delectable talent that can be acquired for an electronic music event.
Each year, we ravenously plan our summers and daydream about all the festivals and concerts to attend. Unfortunately, it'simpossible to go to them all. If you can’t make it to one of these festivals this summer, be sure to get in early for next year’s ticket sales!
