Sonic Trips: Phuture Collective, Arden Records, Synova & more! Hot & New 8/26

As the end of summer looms, Audius would like to invite y’all on one last trip. This Hot & New playlist update is rife with immersive soundscapes and festival ready heat; so close your eyes, put on your headphones, and let the music take you anywhere you want to go!

Phuture Collective, champions of the electronic underground, teases their upcoming showcase: Issue Twenty | Delirium. Their previous singles off this body of work - “Invasion” by BANkaJI and “Warrior Poet” by Varien - embody this theme in separate genres, cavernous deep dub and disorienting dubstep, respectively. Now, they introduce Underbelly to Issue Twenty | Delirium with their track “Let’s Ride.” Twinkling, otherworldly trap production underlines flirtatious rap lyrics in an enticing contrast before Underbelly twists the track down into a more intense breakdown. After this third banger for Issue Twenty | Delirium, audiophiles everywhere anxiously await this next compilation album!

Dendritic record label Arden Records shares their latest evergreen offering, “Everglades” by braj mahal. This peaceful beat gently caresses the listener like a calm breeze flowing through the forest. Guitar and chirpy piano chords join hands with glowing electronic elements, creating an organic beat laced with contentment and pep. Perfect for sunny walks in the local arboretum, “Everglades” encourages us to look up and smile at the beauty we live in.

Synova gives thanks, very literally, in their most recent upload. Lovingly titled “thank you audius for buying me a 2004 subaru,” this brief yet celebratory track shows off their glitchy composition and playful sound design. Since our inception, we strongly believe artists should receive proper compensation for their art. So, we’d also like to say thank you, Synova, for being here, and we’re elated that Audius has helped you secure a new set of wheels! Platform users should definitely give Synova’s discography a listen, perhaps even cruising in their very own 2004 Subaru.

BADMOUTH RECORDS eviscerates our speakers once again with their latest diamond, “HYPNOTIZE” by AURAKAMI and ZEI. The perfect amount of sleek rhythm and badass grit, this bass track becomes an instant hit with its addictive composition. An indulgence of varying frequencies collide with perfectly manipulated vocals to stimulate an already undulating crowd. “HYPNOTIZE” fits right in on BADMOUTH RECORDS and will certainly make its way into innumerable Halloween mixes this coming October!

Solly puts his euphoric twist on “Candy” by Mk.gee in this remix. While the original version feels dreamy and melancholic, Solly reinvents the mood with soaring synths and a bouncy tempo. Washing away the worries of Mk.gee’s “Candy,” this remix allows those feelings to dissipate into the bustling crowd of a futuristic city square full of flashing lights and distraction.
