Flueeed - Community Spotlight Series #11

Today, we search deep within the internet pockets of the Audius community to discover and share the latest gems from our Audius talent!

In this interview, we chat with Flueeed to learn more about his musical background and experience with the Audius platform. Flueeed has gained over 5k followers on Audius and is an active member in the Audius community!

Question 1: Hey Flueeed! What is your background in music?

I started making music in 2018! I was very inspired by Marshmello and Martin Garrix at that time. I learned to make music and EDM using FL Studio. After that, I started learning Lo-Fi and I released an EP called '3:50 am.' Following the EP, I released some singles on platforms such as Audius. Recently, I got into songwriting and singing. I demonstrated these skills in a track I made called “over thoughts” which is exclusively on Audius right now.

Question 2: How did you discover Audius?

I discovered Audius in early 2022 when it was on eth. I was so enthusiastic about crypto/nft/web3 music. I discovered Audius in the earlier days when it was rapidly growing during the crypto boom.

Question 3: Audius aims to empower artists, especially in terms of direct monetization. Why do you believe new monetization models are important for upcoming artists versus other streaming platform monetization models?

Yes, it’s really great what Audius is trying to do! I believe Audius is trying to create a new model for artist monetization. I believe the old model of monetization is not truly fair for artists. The main reason is because the payout is very low per stream and lacks efficiency as well as transparency. Artists have to wait for at least two months to receive money from their music, which is not very sustainable.

Question 4: What do you love the most about the community at Audius?

First of all, the Audius community is very welcoming. The community team is very lovely, helpful, and also very active. I believe the community is very important in web3.

Question 5: What do you believe is the future of music?

I personally think music will remain the same as it offers a conduit for people to connect around the world. However, I believe ways of consuming and collecting music will continuously change and evolve over time. This change will be evident via Web3 technology. I love how Audius added a DM option in their app which is a great tool to connect with new artists and listeners.

Question 6: Tell us about your song “Take Me Back to the Beginning.” What was the process like creating this tune?

“Take Me Back to the Beginning” was my first ever LoFi and chill song that I created. I made it in 2018, but before that I used to create EDM and Future Bass styled music. The thought behind the track was to keep it simple and minimal, hence, I named the track “Take Me Back to the Beginning.” I believe I succeed in creating that feeling of calm through the choice of melodies and chords. I love that song as it was also my first drop on Audius!

Question 7: What are your upcoming plans for your music career?

My upcoming plan is to create more vocal focused tracks and to keep on evolving as an artist and build a huge community in Web3. My goal is to also keep putting new tracks up on Audius!
