Widely renowned house record label Dirtybird shares their Taste of Brazil compilation, four tracks from four Brazilian artists. Showcasing some of the amazing sounds coming out of Brazil’s house music scene, Taste of Brazil highlights the artists Borgez, LET BR, rafaLOO, and VIRKING. These tracks are wobbly and wonky, containing mischievously bouncing basslines and meticulously manipulated vocal samples. The somewhat minimal nature of their composition allows the intriguing sound design and selection to shine, and listeners appreciate the subtle flairs in the mix. Taste of Brazil is a peek into a massive country’s house music scene that will surely lead listeners on the hunt for more.

Audius once again shines the spotlight on camoufly as they present “on my mind,” their newest release. A kaleidoscopic track, “on my mind” fuses romanticism with camoufly’s signature sound; the four-on-the-floor beat carries the shimmering melodies and encourages couples to dance together under spinning disco balls.

G-REX teleports listeners to a post-apocalyptic base in his latest release, “Fallout.” Deriving inspiration from the wildly popular Fallout vide game series, this haunted riddim track rattles the nerves. Sounds simulate the screams of alarms, meanwhile laser beams and screeching metal signal to the base that something more dangerous is invading. With it’s intense aura and immersive imagery, “Fallout” deservedly belongs on a video game soundtrack.

Jackie Hayes brings a grungy edge to indie rock with “This Time,” her latest record off of Pack Records. Although the song opens like a gentle folk instrumental, Jacke Hayes’ throaty voice fills the song with her authenticity and punk energy. Guitars pick up the energy in the chorus, matching the ferocity found in Jackie Hayes’ voice. “Time Time” feels like the unstoppable vigor of youth, the classic rock and roll underlining of the track returning listeners to summer days from their juvenile days.
